NEW DRIVERS

Alex & Therese Mendoza

Alex & Therese used to vacation up here when their children were young and thought it would be the perfect place to retire.  They have been retired up here for 5 years. Alex is retired from the Army Res/Active 24 years.  In 2021 he retired from So Cal Gas Co. after 32yrs as a training instructor.  He is a Veteran, and Homeless advocate.  Alex started RimFeeders and is a member of RimVets.  He believes in helping those in need.   Therese’s hobbies are currently caring for their home & animals, which includes a pet pig that was given to her Christmas 2019.  They both feel nobody should go hungry which is why they volunteer to end this issue.

I was born and reared in Seattle, WA and graduated from the University of WA with a degree in Spanish & Latin American Studies.  I then hired on as a flight attendant with Pan American World Airways and moved West.  After about 5 years with Pan Am I married and attended law school.  I practiced law for approximately 30 years and retired in May 2017.  My husband and I have two sons, both of whom live in the LA area.  We moved West from our home in Columbia, MD in July 2017, moving into our new home in Lake Arrowhead.  We enjoy the weather here and the proximity to our sons and granddaughter.

My favorite activities include travel, bridge, word games and gardening.  I wish to volunteer with MMOW to contribute something to my community

My husband and I moved to Crestline almost a year ago. I enjoy the quiet beauty of a walk and hike and have become involved in Bible studies through our church.  My parents were great examples of volunteerism and service, and my mother was a Meals on Wheels recipient for which I was very grateful. It has been my desire to serve the community and this opportunity came knocking (well, a notice in the newspaper!)

I have been a resident of Crestline for over thirty years.  I’m semi-retired and have found that I like doing volunteer work and helping others. I had M.O.W for my mother for the last few years of her life.  It was so helpful to her.  I would appreciate the opportunity to help with M.O.W., thus allowing me to give back.
